Left Luggage Facility?
Is there a facility to leave left luggage for a few hours near the Railway Stations in Wigan? I've seen one web site saying that there is a facility at W.N.W Station and another saying that there isn't one ?? A friend is coming over from the US next month and wants to leave a bag at the station for a couple of hours, in the morning, while she goes to the History Shop. Prior to catching the train to London later in the day.

Does she have a friend that could just take the bag off her at the station then bring it back later?

To my knowledge, only the large city stations have for security reasons, left luggage facilities manned by staff with who have equipment that tells them what is in the case, bag etc

UNFORTUNATELY I AM GOING AWAY THE MORNING SHE WANTS TO LEAVE HER BAG OTHERWISE THERE WOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM. SHE WANTS TO LEAVE HER BAG SOMEWHERE, FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, , WHILST SHE HAS A WALK AROUND TOWN AND VISITS THE HISTORY SHOP. BEFORE CATCHING THE TRAIN DOWN TO LONDON..

From First Matse's link ........
"Wigan North Western railway station is a very large regional interchange station on the Crewe - Preston Line in Wigan Central, Wigan Borough Council."
"Wigan BoroughCounci", eh.?

She could always leave it with one of the many people who sit outside shops collecting spare change. I should imagine they would look after it for a couple of quid, they'd be glad of it !

And using the plethora of storage facilities there are now available, they require you to sign a contract, pay a month up front and a lump sum as a security deposit, and you have to take out storage yoonit insurance, your own if you wish, or their in house insurance services, charged per £1000 of the value of goods you are storing, extra charges for out of office hours access to your stored property, it all adds up and is included as being another part of 'Rip Off Britain'
